Pen to Paper ~ Poetry

Leaves

If you hear the leaves fall off the trees
please catch their fall and think of me.
If you feel the wind blowing your way
please breathe the air for me today.

Fetch the leaves before they brown
and scatter them upon the ground.
I need to know, that if I fall
within the wind you'll hear my call

For if I fell without your touch
a love that could have meant so much.
To brown away within the soil
"I'm wondering if you were loyal?"

Please listen to the wind I say
and let me not be blown away.
The morning dew, another clear
another lost amidst the tears.

The evening sun to set again
and darken me again with pain.
I pray you hear my rustled cries
for on the ground I'll only die.

I pray you catch me if I fall
then free me in the wind, that's all...
